SCSI Trade Association, STA

The SCSI Trade Association (STA) was established in 1995 as a member-run organization to provide a focal point for members to communicate the benefits of the small computer system interface (SCSI) to the storage industry. For more than twenty years, STA promoted the understanding and use of SCSI technology and influenced the evolution of SCSI standards. It now promotes the new SCSI technology, Serial Attached SCSI, which entered the market in the fall of 2004. The nine-member Board of Directors oversees the marketing communications committee, the SAS technology liaison and directs all STA activities

UEFI Forum

The Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) specification defines a new model for the interface between operating systems and platform firmware. The interface consists of data tables that contain platform-related information, plus boot and runtime service calls that are available to the operating system and its loader. Together, these provide a standard environment for booting an operating system and running pre-boot applications. The Unified EFI Forum is the group responsible for developing, managing and promoting the UEFI specification.
